John Gillo was born in 1948. His initial years were spent in Putney, London and later Maidenhead in Berkshire. He attended Windsor Grammar school after which he accepted a place at Brighton School of Art, graduating in 1971. He taught in a number of schools and colleges but realised he wanted to paint full time and established the John Gillo Gallery in 1976. From this base John developed a reputation for watercolours, mainly drawing his inspiration from Dartmouth and the surrounding area.

John's work today is largely in acrylics and has broadened considerably to include much more abstract work. He would be delighted to welcome you to my gallery in the Old Market, Dartmouth, where all my work is on permanent show.

PLEASE NOTE: Any orders of John Gillo prints currently have a 28 day fulfilment period
